StoveTeam International

November 19, 2010

We have big news from StoveTeam!  StoveTeam’s work has received its first international publicity with a feature article in The Rotarian Magazine.  Click here to read the article.
On November 6th a team of 30 volunteers assisted entrepreneurs in Guatemala and Honduras with factory construction.  In Copan Ruinas, Honduras they established a program of dental care.

On November 11th, members of the StoveTeam International Board of Directors traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico to help plan another Ecocina stove factory.  This factory will be helped by a grant from Rotary clubs in the Pacific Northwest, Cupertino, California, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
The Ecocina stoves are improving and saving the lives of children in Latin America by providing stoves that reduce pollution, deforestation, burns, time lost and injury from carrying wood.  These stoves substantially reduce indoor air pollution, the leading cause of death of children under five in the world.
With the help of donations from individuals like you, StoveTeam has helped establish factories in Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guatemala in less than three years and has plans for factories in Mexico, Haiti and Ghana.  Interest has also come from Kenya and The Philippines.  Together we have helped more than 70,000 people breathe.
Your donations and enthusiastic support have been essential to our success.
Help us make a difference today with your online donation.
Thank you again for your help and support.
