A recent study published by the Stockholm Environmental Institute touted the Ecocina as the only fully portable rocket stove that has achieved a high level of adoption among Central American families. Out of thirty-three clean cookstoves for sale on the Central American market that were studied, the Ecocina is one of only six stoves regarded as highly adopted, according to the metrics used by the study. Join StoveTeam in Antigua, Guatemala for a unique glimpse into the long held Guatemalan traditions of La Cuaresma (Lent), when locals adorn the streets with colorful sawdust and flower carpets for processions in anticipation of Semana Santa (Holy Week) and Easter. Improve your Spanish, explore Guatemala, and volunteer for a good cause.
The trip runs from Saturday, March 5 - Sunday, March 13, 2016 and includes a week of language school, stove construction, and sightseeing in Antigua. All in-country expenses except alcohol are provided for a price of $1500 per person (double occupancy) or $1700 per person (single occupancy), not including airfare.

StoveTeam is teaming up this December with the University of Oregon's Holden Leadership Center to provide a service learning trip to Guatemala. Students will develop leadership skills and global awareness while helping the EcoComal stove factory and learning about the dangers of open cooking fires.
This trip is open to all UO students and is currently accepting applications through Holden. If you know a student who would love the experience of traveling with StoveTeam, please let them know today!
