2008 El Salvador

Dates:  March, 2008
Locations:  El Salvador

Six of us went to prepare for a March stove team, feeling as if what we did might cement better relations with our American neighbors, reduce deforestation, improve the lives of rural women, and contribute to better health among rural Salvadorans, but we were offered an even greater opportunity. After enthusiastic meetings with Habitat for Humanity, the Peace Corps and the Salvadoran government, our group has been asked to significantly change the country's environment by installing our little stoves throughout the entire country. As a result, in the past week we have been planning to open two new stove factories in El Salvador. StoveTeam International's factory now has four employees, and our Board is so wildly enthusiastic that we've had to remember how important it is to sleep!
