Our 2020 Annual Report summed up in one word: Growth!

It is difficult to believe that so much could happen in one year. From hiring our first full-time field employee, to providing aid during COVID-19 for all of our local partners, to launching a successful pilot project based on a new stove model, this was the year of new endeavors and unexpected challenges.

Our 2020 Annual Report is fully interactive. Relive the adventures of 2020 with photos and stories, and follow links to videos and past newsletters to dig deeper into the memories, good and bad, that brought us to where we are today!

Here are just a few highlights. See the whole report here!

A new endeavor

In 2020 we began a pilot project to build a new stove model called the Justa stove. The construction of each stove provides local jobs, and uses all local materials and transportation. Each Justa stove eliminates smoke inside the home by nearly 100%, saves kids from the risk of burns, reduces wood usage by 50%, and saves up to 15 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere!

Meet the Pérez Family

The Pérez family graciously sat down with us in the fall of 2020 to tell us how receiving a Justa cookstove had benefited each of them individually.

What about the environment?

In 2020 we experienced record-setting fires near our offices here in Oregon, while the families we serve were suffering from one of the worst hurricane seasons on record. We are grateful that each cookstove helps fight climate change by reducing CO2 emissions, while strengthening economies and providing hurricane resilience.
